Many courses are offered as both introductory classes and continuing education and do not require any previous bodywork experience. Others are advanced courses requiring massage certification and are so noted. All courses that are offered for credit are recognized by the CA State Board of Registered Nurses for continuing education credits for nurses (CEP #6284) and by the CA Bureau of Private Post-Secondary Education and the National Certification Board for Therapuetic Massage and Bodywork.

Zen Tai (whole body) Table Shiatsu is a modern adaptation of the traditional Japanese healing art which works to increase the flow of Ki (life force) in the meridians (energy channels) in the client as well as the practitioner. It is done with the receiver comfortably clothed on a standard massage table, and can easily be integrated with other forms of body therapy.
The side position is very comfortable, and is beneficial for clients with special needs such as lower back and S.I. joint problems, sciatica, sinus concerns and/or pregnancy. Students will learn a whole-body sequence using palms, thumbs, fists and elbows. A focus on proper bio mechanics, an introduction to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) theory, and Chi Kung exercises are integral parts of this three-day course. The final afternoon of class will be spent practicing the course material presented and adapting its usefullness into a side-lying position oil massage.

While good massage is largely an intuitive art, its effectiveness increases dramatically when a therapist's intuition is informed by a solid knowledge of the structure and workings of the body. Anatomy and Kinesiology 1 is designed to give the practitioner a basic knowledge of the muscles, bones and movements of the body from a bodyworker’s perspective. In addition to watching anatomy DVDs and reading, class time is dedicated to exploring the body experientially through palpation, movement exercises, clay modeling, coloring and “building muscles” on our resident skeleton, “Hanns.” Three textbooks are required for this intensive.
Registered students are encouraged to begin an exploration of "Anatomy in Movement" (revised) prior to the first day of instruction.

While good massage is largely an intuitive art, its effectiveness increases dramatically when a therapist's intuition is informed by a solid knowledge of the structure and workings of the body. Anatomy and Kinesiology 1 is designed to give the practitioner a basic knowledge of the muscles, bones and movements of the body from a bodyworker’s perspective. In addition to watching anatomy DVDs and reading, class time is dedicated to exploring the body experientially through palpation, movement exercises, clay modeling, coloring and “building muscles” on our resident skeleton, “Hanns.” Three textbooks are required for this intensive.
Registered students are encouraged to begin an exploration of "Anatomy in Movement" (revised) prior to the first day of instruction.
